Houston Texans wide receiver Nico Collins’ status is still up in the air for Sunday night’s game against the Detroit Lions, but one expert — in both the medical and sports industries — expects him to play.
Dr. Jesse Morse, a family and sports medicine physician who is known as “The Fantasy Doc,” said he believes Collins will try and play against the Lions.
Collins suffered a hamstring injury in Week 5, which put him on injured reserve. The Texans activated Collins on Saturday, but he enters Sunday’s game with a questionable designation.
On X (formerly Twitter), Morse said that Collins’ reinjury rate is roughly 15%. He also said that Collins is a must-start.
Collins’ presence would be huge for the Texans against the Lions’ high-powered offense. He led the NFL with 567 receiving yards before suffering his injury in Week 5.
The Texans are 6-3 and lead the AFC South. Their offense, though, faltered without Collins and Stefon Diggs in Week 9, as the Texans lost 21-13 to the New York Jets.
The Texans’ Sunday Night Football showdown against the Lions begins at 8:20 p.m. ET.
