The Green Bay Packers are entering year six of the Jordan Love project, and this season is the most important one yet. All eyes are on Love, and the team’s success will largely depend on his performance. Another disappointing year could result in a rough season for Green Bay.
“It’s Jordan Love time. Only one offensive player on the roster (two-time Pro Bowl guard Elgton Jenkins), and three players in total, predate the quarterback’s time with the team. He’s on a top-of-market deal, so the onus is on him to start lifting his teammates rather than the other way around. The roster’s still solid, but competitions at left tackle and receiver will help set the course for how far the team can go, and Love’s work through any bumps at those spots will be key,” Sports Illustrated’s Albert Breer wrote.
If Love delivers this year, he could be a dark horse MVP candidate.
“A quarterback has won this award every year since 2012 and 17 of the last 18 years overall, so Love -- the most important Packer entering 2025 -- is the obvious choice here. He'll enter the season as a big MVP longshot after an injury-plagued 2024 season, but if the version of Love that ended the 2023 season shows up for a long stretch of 2025, he'll be right in the mix,” Packers Wire’s Zach Kruse wrote.
Last season, Love was accused of regressing, but an anonymous scout revealed that a knee injury was likely the main cause of his dip in performance.
“That knee injury held back Jordan Love,” said the anonymous scout. “He was on course for a really big year if not for the time he missed. It looked like he rushed himself back a little bit too soon.”

With a healthy offseason behind him, the hope is that Love can finally show the full extent of his abilities. Based on last year’s performance before the injury, it's clear that Love has the tools — he just needs to stay on the field and capitalize.
