Detroit Lions rookie wide receiver Isaac TeSlaa has garnered a fair amount of hype this offseason and quarterback Jared Goff just provided his stock another boost.
TeSlaa has had himself a strong first offseason in the NFL. He has managed to stand out in the preseason, with TeSlaa reeling in two catches for 46 yards in the Hall of Fame Game against the Los Angeles Chargers.
He then followed that up with two catches for 18 yards and a touchdown against the Atlanta Falcons in preseason Week 1.
After the Lions completed their joint practices with the Miami Dolphins on on Thursday, Goff noted the progress TeSlaa has made and believes the Arkansas product can grab a role in the team's offense right away.
"He started to catch up and he's started to understand the physicality it takes," Goff said, per Nolan Bianchi of The Detroit News. "He certainly has a chance to have a role in our offense and has done a great job getting better every day."
While TeSlaa has been impressive, veteran wide receiver Tim Patrick, has struggled throughout training camp and has been sidelined with an injury recently.
Patrick was a valuable role player for the Lions in 2024, serving as the team's No. 3 wide receiver. But if his struggles continue, it's very conceivable TeSlaa will be getting significant snaps right off the bat.
TeSlaa will look to keep the good times rolling when he and the Lions host the Dolphins at Ford Field on Saturday in preseason Week 2.
