Detroit Lions backup running back Craig Reynolds was shaken up in the first quarter of the preseason Week 1 game against the Atlanta Falcons.

The play happened on the Lions' second series of the game.

Quarterback Hendon Hooker lofted up a pass to Reynolds, who took a big hit from a Falcons defender, which drew a flag for unnecessary roughness. The flag was a bit controversial, though, as the hit appeared to be legal.

Here's the latest on Reynolds.

UPDATE: Reynolds has re-entered the game, so he appears to be OK.

Here's a look at the hit Reynolds took. We are just speculating here, but it could be either a head or arm injury.

Reynolds quickly exited the field upon taking the hit. We'll update this page when more information becomes available.

Reynolds got the start on Friday night and is currently listed as the No. 3 running back on the Lions' first unofficial depth chart.
