Former Denver Broncos placekicker Brandon McManus' stay in the nation's capital as a member of the Washington Commanders lasted exactly 80 days. Sunday, the Commanders chose to release McManus following allegations of sexual assault.

The allegations stem from an incident this past season where two flight attendants who were on a Jacksonville Jaguars flight to London have accused McManus, who kicked for the Jaguars last season, of sexual assault. The Commanders have chosen to wash their hands of it right now.

McManus was the kicker for the Broncos for nine seasons and at the time of his release last May, he was the last remaining member of the team that won Super Bowl 50. He ranks second behind only Jason Elam on the team's all-time scoring list.

McManus has certainly seen his career go in the wrong direction since then. After a rough season in Jacksonville last year, the Jags decided not to re-sign him. In Washington, he was set to be the team's kicker this season and without another kicker even on the roster at the time of this writing, the move to let him go was still made.
