The Denver Broncos used the No. 20 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft to select last year's Jim Thorpe Award winner, Jahdae Barron. Now, one of the best defensive backs in Broncos history is willing to help him acclimate to the NFL.
Speaking on the DNVR podcast with former Broncos wide receiver Bennie Fowler, Chris Harris Jr. talked about being willing to help show Barron some things that are specific to the system ran by Broncos defensive coordinator Vance Joseph.
Harris went from undrafted to being one of the top cornerbacks in Broncos history. In his nine seasons with the team, he was selected to the Pro Bowl four times and was a huge piece of a defense that helped the team win Super Bowl 50. He had 20 interceptions in Denver and earned a reputation as one of the best nickel corners in the league.
That is the same spot where most see Barron making his money.
Really cool: Chris Harris Jr is willing to help Jahdae Barron transition to the NFL.

“Different things that you have to understand in coverages and movements that I can definitely help him on in what he’s going to have to do in VJ’s system.”

Barron would be wise to take Harris up on his offer as he not only can offer a wealth of knowledge from his days as a player, but he also played under Joseph in 2018 and 2019 and could give him a unique perspective on what Joseph will be expecting out of him this coming season.
Harris has only been out of the league for two seasons and only officially retired last April. He would be the perfect player for Barron to take some tips on in regards to playing the nickel corner spot in Denver.
