Dallas Cowboys All-Pro cornerback Trevon Diggs is making his way back from a second serious knee injury in his career, but plans to get back on the field sooner than later. After undergoing bone graft surgery in January, there was concern about when Diggs would be available this season, but he provided an update on Monday that should have fans optimistic.
Speaking to Clarence Hill of DLLS on the All City Network, Diggs revealed he will not need to be placed on the physically unable to perform list, which would've cost him the first four games of the season.

Limited to just 13 games over the past two seasons, getting Diggs back on the field will be crucial for the Cowboys defense that will now work with new defensive coordinator Matt Eberflus. Diggs is undoubtedly the heart and soul of the team's secondary and he along with superstar pass rusher Micah Parsons make up the identity of the Dallas defense.
It sounds as if the season opener against the Philadelphia Eagles on September 4 could be too soon for Diggs to return, but Dallas could get him on the field shortly afterwards.
