The Dallas Cowboys are in a tough spot with Micah Parsons after team owner Jerry Jones tried to make a move the star linebacker wasn’t on board with. Jones attempted to negotiate the contract extension Parsons wanted — but did so without involving his agent.
“The fact that Jerry Jones and the Cowboys believe they can negotiate a 9-figure extension with Micah Parsons without involving his agent says everything about the current state of the franchise. This entire situation is laughable from the Dallas side. It could’ve — and should’ve — been avoided. But instead, the Cowboys operated with pure arrogance, foolishness and stubbornness,” insider Jordan Schultz posted.
In response, Parsons eventually took action — submitting a trade request to the organization that drafted him.
“Still I stayed quiet but again after repeated shots at myself and all the narratives I have made a tough decision I no longer want to play for the Dallas Cowboys. My trade request has been submitted to Stephen Jones personally,” Parsons posted.
At this point, the Cowboys would be wise to consider moving him. If they don’t, it could cost them upwards of $130 million.
“If Parsons is prepared to leave, the Cowboys should see what they can get in return. They're unlikely to be serious Super Bowl contenders within the next few seasons, and paying more than $130 million per year for three players would be hard to justify if they aren't,” Bleacher Report’s Kristopher Knox wrote.

Some believe this could be a power play by Parsons to force the Cowboys' hand — but according to Pro Football Talk’s Mike Florio, the situation may have gone too far.
“The ship, we’re told, quite possibly has sailed. Parsons quite possibly will reject any offer he receives from the Cowboys on a long-term deal, because he no longer wants one,” Florio wrote.
At this point, it seems the damage is done. Parsons no longer appears to be in good standing with the organization. The young phenom likely has trust issues with the franchise, and for Dallas, this is a massive blow. They're now on the verge of losing one of the best pass rushers in the game.
