One former Dallas Cowboys superstar is leaving the franchise.

There has been a lot of chatter recently about the future of four-time Pro Bowler DeMarcus Lawrence. He spent the first 11 years of his career as a member of the Cowboys and was one of the best defensive ends in football for a while.

He missed most of the season in 2024 and played in just four games. Lawrence did have three sacks over that stretch, but he missed a lot of time and there was speculation he could retire. He made it clear that wasn't happening this offseason and reportedly sounded open to a Dallas return.

That unfortunately isn't happening either, though. Lawrence reportedly is signing a three-year deal with the Seattle Seahawks, according to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero.

"Four-time Pro Bowl DE DeMarcus Lawrence is signing a three-year deal worth up to $42 million with the Seahawks, his agents David Canter and Ness Mugrabi of Aura Sports Group tell The Insiders," Pelissero said. "He gets $18M guaranteed.

"Lawrence, who turns 33 next month, had 61.5 career sacks over 11 seasons in Dallas but played just four games last season. Now, a fresh start in Seattle."

Lawrence was a phenomenal player for the Cowboys and was selected in the second round of the 2014 NFL Draft. He developed into a premier pass rusher in Dallas and will be sorely missed. Hopefully, he can stay healthy and get back on track with the Seahawks in 2025 and beyond.
