The story of the 2025 NFL Draft was the fall of Shedeur Sanders. The Colorado quarterback was expected to go no later than the first round and instead fell all the way to round five in a slide that will be talked about forever in NFL Draft lure. Sanders' historic slide ended when he was selected by the Cleveland Browns.
Everyone was surprised about Sanders' slide, including Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Justin Jefferson. Speaking with Bleacher Report, the Vikings' star says he was shocked Sanders fell all the way to the fifth round.
"I think it's crazy that he dropped that far in the draft," Jefferson said. "I definitely don't think he should've dropped that far [from] just watching him the previous seasons and seeing the different things that he did at Colorado. I definitely thought that he should've been drafted in that first [or] second round. I guess it's just more fire for him and more chip on his shoulder that he can use going into the league."
While all of the talk has been about Sanders and his slide, the time for worrying about that is over. Now, Sanders can either wallow in self pity about going in the fifth round or he can outwork and out-perform all other quarterbacks on the Browns roster and show that he is the rightful starter for the 2025 season.
