As the Cleveland Browns head into the first week of training camp, everyone continues to watch to see who gets the most reps and will be the likely starter for the 2025 season.  A lot of hype came out of Berea today as Kenny Pickett took all first-team snaps in the first 11-on-11 drill of the season.

Dillon Gabriel followed up with the second team, and Shedeur Sanders was last with all of the third-team reps.  As for the veteran, Joe Flacco, he did not get any action in today’s first live drills vs. the defense.

Does this really mean anything?  Likely not, Kevin Stefanski has said from the beginning that the quarterback rotation in week one would be fluid and alternating.  Stefanski noted they would evaluate the rotation for week two, which makes sense.

With four quarterbacks in an open competition, a week-to-week depth chart is going to help you get the most out of everyone.  At this point, if Berry were to name a No. 1 quarterback, you’re not giving any motivation to the others to separate.

The first few days of camp will always favor the defense as it’s a natural thing for the offense to take longer to come together and gel, but you can bet which quarterback is getting the most first-team reps will be a highly watched item all camp long.
