Now that the 2025 preseason is officially underway for the NFL, we are already seeing 2026 mock drafts that include the Texas quarterback with the famous last name, Arch Manning.

It’s well known that Jimmy Haslem has a strong relationship with the Manning family, and the Browns are certainly in dire need of a franchise quarterback.  However, it appears that Haslem and Archie Manning (Arch’s grandfather) have the same thoughts about not speculating that he will even be in the 2026 draft.

Haslem mentioned this a week ago when the press pushed him on his thoughts of Arch for next year's draft, and in a recent interview with Archie from Texas Monthly, he commented that “Archie isn’t going to do that.  He’ll be in Texas.”  Referring to Arch leaving for the NFL with or without a National Championship.

It's hard to say any team in the NFL is willing to tank a season for a particular draft pick, but decisions can be made in the last few weeks of the season if all other goals are gone, including a playoff run.

With all of the recent chatter from Archie, there is no doubt that teams will be thinking about this as they plan their path forward.
