Tough news for Kevin Stefanski and the Cleveland Browns on Wednesday.
Following a start in the pre-season opener, Shedeur Sanders was injured in practice and did not return. ESPN's Adam Schefter broke the news.
Sanders started the preseason opener against Carolina and shared time with Tyler Huntley. The rookie out of Colorado went 14 for 23 and 138 yards, along with two touchdowns in the game.

There has been plenty of discussion with Coach Stefanski about where Sanders fits on the depth chart, and the Browns still have him listed as fourth, but Kenny Pickett and Dillion Gabriel are also nursing injuries.
Joe Flacco stands to be the starting quarterback for the Week 1 affair at home against the Cincinnati Bengals. Flacco will turn 41 years old in January.
Cleveland will take on the Philadelphia Eagles in the second pre-season game of the season on Saturday. There is no word on what quarterbacks will get an opportunity, but word from Browns camp is that Flacco will not play while Pickett remains limited. With Sanders now in question, the talk is louder.
It's likely the Browns will get their first look at Dillon Gabriel, and it may be in an extended role.
