Shedeur Sander’s NFL tenure has been nothing but thrilling thus far. After falling to round five in the draft because of alleged character issues, he then followed up with two speeding tickets within weeks, with one over 100 miles per hour.
After the draft, it was reported that some interviews with Sanders were so bad pre-draft, he was removed from certain teams' boards altogether and referred to Sanders as “entitled”.
The red flags are up, but in Friday's time with the media, Sanders nailed two items that stood out. With the Jordan Hicks retirement news, Jerome Baker was on the stand, and as Sanders walked to the media, he noticed that Baker’s crowd had diminished. Sanders said he would not begin talking until Baker was done, which is a pro move.
Shedeur Sanders politely paused start of his interview in media tent until LB Jerome Baker was done.

'It’s a respect thing. I know a lot of people want the content I’m going to produce. It was important he gets everything he needs to say out and everybody captures what he has.
Then during the question period, he was asked about his reps in practice, and he answered that he can only worry about what he controls now. Sanders is frustrated with limited snaps, and everyone in the NFL wants to be a starter, but he has accepted his role at this time and appears up to the challenge of earning his spot via play.
This is only one small step in the right direction for Sanders, but let’s hope it continues.
