Kyle Hamilton has established himself as a franchise player for the Baltimore Ravens, and he earned a prestigious honor from league executives, coaches, and scouts on Thursday.

In the annual ESPN survey that ranks the top ten players at each position based on intel from NFL personnel, Hamilton came in as the best safety in football.

Hamilton has been a familiar face on the list since he entered the league in 2022, but 2025 marks the first year that the Notre Dame product topped the rankings.

"All-around best player: Size instincts, production, blitz ability," an NFL personnel director said to ESPN.

"Great player, scheme specific," an AFC executive said to ESPN. "In his role, he's very good. He can't man cover and does not have elite range, that's why teams with quicker receivers can have success against him."

Hamilton doesn't have many flaws in his game. The 24-year-old is excellent in pass coverage, allowing an 86.3 passer rating when targeted through his first three seasons.

The 2023 first-team All-Pro selection is also a stout run defender who has tallied over 40 defensive stops in each of the last two years. And to top it all off, Hamilton is incredibly reliable, missing just three games in his career thus far.

Hamilton, who is eligible for a contract extension, is not only the best safety in football, but is also one of the best and most valuable players in the entire sport. The two-time Pro Bowler is on track to be a Ravens legend and Hall of Famer.
