The Baltimore Ravens could be interested in signing a former Super Bowl MVP just weeks before training camp.
During an appearance on the DNVR Broncos show, NFL Network's Brian Baldinger mentioned the Ravens as a natural fit for free agent edge rusher Von Miller.
Baldinger also said that there are three teams showing heavy interest in Miller, though he didn't specifically say that Baltimore is one of those teams.
"I thought it's a natural [fit] for Von to end up in Baltimore," Baldinger told the DNVR Broncos show. "He didn't, when I threw that out at Joby [Miller's agent], he didn't say anything. He goes, 'We've got three very interested teams,' but he didn't tell me the teams, and I didn't pry. I wasn't trying to be a reporter there."
"I think Von feels like there's a pretty good chance he's going to sign at some point before camp or, I mean, I don't think Von's too crazy about going to training camp, most guys that age aren't, they know what they need to do. He looks in great shape. So I would say he's gonna get signed here," Baldinger added.
Miller is past his prime and no longer an elite pass rusher. However, the Super Bowl 50 MVP can still provide some value to a contender as a rotational piece to their pass rush.
In 13 games last year with the Buffalo Bills, Miller posted six sacks and 32 quarterback pressures in 279 snaps. The 36-year-old was released by Buffalo in March.
If the Ravens are still interested in signing Miller, they should, as the eight-time Pro Bowler would be a savvy veteran addition to the defense ahead of the season.
