Wide receiver is a pretty stacked position in college football. Several teams have a few good players at the position, so you really have to be the best of the best to stand out.

Heading into the rapidly approaching season, ESPN dropped its list of preseason All-Americans. Unsurprisingly, the two biggest names at wide receiver were two of the biggest names in football: Ohio State's Jeremiah Smith and Alabama's Ryan Williams

"Smith returns as college football's premier player and the one who strikes the most fear into opposing defensive coordinators' hearts," ESPN analyst Chris Low said. "The 6-3, 225-pound sophomore is a nightmarish matchup for defensive backs with his blend of size, strength and speed."

Smith had an astonishing 17 touchdowns last year, and he averaged almost 18 yards per reception. "[Ryan] Williams joins Smith as the second true sophomore to earn first-team All-America honors. He had five touchdowns catches in his first four games last season at Alabama and returns as one of the most explosive players in the game," Low said.

Inconsistencies bit Williams as a 17-year-old freshman, but Low expects those issues to be put behind him. "Williams averaged 18 yards per catch and tied for fourth nationally with five receptions of 50-plus yards," he added.

The two second-team WRs were Arizona State's Jordyn Tyson and Clemson's Antonio Williams, two great players who sadly just can't hold a candle to the two first-team members.
