South Carolina Gamecocks QB LaNorris Sellers and LSU Tigers’ QB Garrett Nussmeier both will be the top names entering the 2026 NFL draft next season.
This naturally puts all the spotlight on them this season, not to mention them constantly being under the microscope for each snap.
Ipso facto, Jake Crain and his co-hosts rank Sellers and Nussmeier the top SEC QBs this season.
“I think LaNorris Sellers, from a talent standpoint, is the best quarterback in the SEC. I think you can make a good argument for it. From a physical standpoint, I mean, you can make a case for LaNorris, he's a freak,” Crain said about Sellers as his No. 1 pick.
“I think he's an old-school gunslinger. He needs to take care of the football a little bit better, but I really believe in his ability, and I think it will translate to the next level as well.”
What makes their lineup more interesting is where they rank the much-hyped Arch Manning.
Manning ranked No. 4, preceded by Oklahoma’s John Mateer at No. 3.
Manning’s rank at No. 4 becomes particularly eye-catching after all the attention he has been getting.
To be fair, Oklahoma’s Mateer has gained equal, if not more, traction as Manning heading into the season.
All of that said, college football remains one of the most volatile environments.
Only time will tell how true these rankings stand.
