EA Sports just dropped the early-access window for EA Sports College Football 26 and the Rutgers Scarlet Knights ratings are officially with one player on the roster standing out and gaining national attention.
At least that’s how EA Sports see’s it and the Scarlet Knights are coming off a strong season, so earning the national respect shouldn’t be a surprise.
The highest rated player on the Rutgers roster is one of its pass catchers in DT Sheffield and he’s recognized as one of the best players in the entire game at his position. Sheffield is receiving a 90 overall grade after having a strong season at North Texas last season.
This will be his third program in three seasons, which include North Texas, Washington State and now with the Scarlet Knights.
He had a strong 2024 campaign with North Texas last season, where he hauled in 66 receptions for 822 yards and 11 touchdowns, while averaging 12.5 yards per reception. He’s also standing at 5-foot-10 and will slide in immediately as the team’s slot receiver.
After an impressive 2024 season at North Texas, where he caught 66 passes for 822 yards and 11 touchdowns while averaging 12.5 yards per catch, Sheffield is ready to make an immediate impact at Rutgers as their slot receiver.

Standing 5-foot-10, he’s shown the speed and agility to thrive in that role.
Rated a four-star transfer recruit this offseason with a 90 grade—matching his EA Sports rating—Sheffield was ranked No. 31 among receivers and No. 155 overall in the 2025 class by 247Sports.
Moving through three programs in three years hasn’t slowed him down; if anything, it’s sharpened his ability to adjust and perform. Now settled at Rutgers, Sheffield looks set to be a key weapon on the field and a standout in EA Sports College Football 26.
If his track record is any indication, Scarlet Knights fans have plenty to be excited about this season.
