Michigan football is in a heated recruiting battle for four-star cornerback Khary Adams, a standout from Loyola Blakefield High School in Maryland.
The Wolverines are hosting him for an official visit on June 6, and this could be a pivotal moment in his recruitment.
With several powerhouse programs vying for his commitment, Michigan must make a strong case to bring Adams to Ann Arbor.
Adams has been a rising star in the 2026 recruiting class, showing off his elite skills at Loyola Blakefield. Last season, he posted 43 tackles, 3 interceptions, and 2 fumble recoveries, making him one of the most sought-after defensive backs.
His ability to play multiple positions, cornerback, wide receiver, and return specialist, has made him a valuable prospect.
Michigan is competing against Penn State, Oregon, Notre Dame, and South Carolina, all of whom are in Adams’ top five. Penn State currently leads in predictions for his commitment, but Michigan is making a late push to change the narrative.
Michigan’s defensive backs coach LaMar Morgan has been leading the charge, emphasizing the program’s success in developing NFL-ready cornerbacks.
Adams himself said in a recent interview, “It could be a great situation for me at Michigan. I like the scheme, they run a lot of press man and I feel I could thrive in that defense. The coaches are really cool too.”
While Adams is currently the No. 36-ranked prospect in the 2026 class, he has all the tools necessary to start from day one at the next level. Standing tall at six-foot-two, 175 pounds, Adams has already shown an ability to take offensive snaps, having recorded 562 yards, six TDs, and 16.5 yards per reception.
His function as a dual-role prospect will allow him to be integrated into both offensive and defensive schemes.
While Michigan is making a strong case, Penn State remains a major threat, as the Nittany Lions have a proven track record with elite defensive talent. According to this however, Michigan remains the head frontrunner per outside money.
The Wolverines will need to impress Adams with their facilities, NIL opportunities, and depth chart during his visit.
