‘Proud of Arch’: Uncle Peyton Manning sends encouraging message to Texas Longhorns football star Arch Manning image

The questions surrounding Arch Manning’s future with the Texas Longhorns football program have been aplenty.

None of it concerns his uncle Peyton Manning much, mainly because of his firsthand experience with it all during his time at Tennessee.

It is also a reason why Manning is strongly convinced that his nephew will shine as the Texas Longhorns' QB during his third year in Austin.

“The fact that this will be Arch’s third year in that system, he’ll have great knowledge of the system – still hasn’t had on-the-field game reps as I’m sure he would have liked, but those will come this year,” Peyton Manning told The Sporting News.

“It’s more than just the football program. You like going to school there. You like the head coach who also calls the plays, and that creates great continuity.

“To me, the Kyle Shanahans, the Sean McVays – when the head coach is calling the plays –  the quarterback is going to thrive in the same system every single year.”

For Peyton, Arch giving Texas his everything is more important than anything else.

“There will be things for him to learn, but I’m proud of him for his commitment, and I’m looking forward to watching him play,” Peyton said.

“He went to Texas because that's where he wanted to go. He wanted to go to school there. That was the reason I went to Tennessee.”

All the hype surrounding his nephew to be the top QB in 2025 and, not to mention, the top predicted contender for the 2026 Heisman Trophy comes secondary. The experience he earns from his college career comes first.

It is safe to say that under Steve Sarkisian’s guidance, Arch’s prime years in college are in safe hands.
