It's a bit surprising that former Penn State standout and current Dallas Cowboys star Micah Parsons has continued to show up for the Cowboys.

The Cowboys, aiming to be a significantly improved team from last season after dealing with injuries, need Parsons on their roster if they want to become the team they aspire to be.

However, as a true professional, Parsons has stayed true to his teammates. He's noted multiple times that he'll continue to show up for his squad, as he has Super Bowl aspirations.

Eventually, the Cowboys will have to pay Parsons, and it seems like it's only a matter of time. The question remains how much the contract could be worth, and CBS Sports recently predicted it could come in at four years and $162 million.

“Of all the discontent pass rushers seeking new deals this offseason, Parsons' fight feels the tamest. Perhaps that's reading too much into his generally jovial personality and public optimism regarding a future in Dallas. Perhaps it's because, unlike Watt in Pittsburgh, he actually reported to minicamp, albeit as a "hold-in" steering clear of the practice field.

“Either way, the Cowboys tend to get things done; they just do things at their own pace. Like Dak Prescott and CeeDee Lamb before him, Parsons is a face of this franchise, and he'll likely be rewarded as such, if only after enduring a long offseason of speculation regarding his value. At the end of the day, our bet is Jerry Jones signs the check,” they wrote.

There's a very good chance that Parsons will get a record-setting contract.

After what he's proven throughout the first few years of his NFL career, posting 52.5 sacks in four seasons, it'd be well deserved.
