Penn State QB Drew Allar makes feelings clear on being drafted by the Cleveland Browns image

Drew Allar is a northeast Ohio kid.

Penn State was on him long before Ohio State, though, and so he took his college football talents to Happy Valley.

That doesn't mean that Allar, a Mr. Ohio Football at Medina High School, wouldn't like to return to his home state some day.

He's got a chance to be a top-10 pick in the 2026 NFL Draft, and it's very likely the Cleveland Browns will be selecting in that range.

If the Browns can get Allar, he'd appreciate that more than most.

The PSU QB joined Ross Tucker on his podcast and spoke about the meaning of a potential Browns selection:

“That would definitely be special… My dad had season tickets growing up. They've been passed down since my great grandfather.”

The Browns won't be the only team interested in Allar, of course. And there are other strong quarterbacks in this draft class even if Arch Manning stays in school.

But the Allar connection is definitely a cool one, and Cleveland will have the draft capital to pull it off.

Not only do they have their own 2026 first-round pick, but they also have the Jaguars' 2026 first-rounder from the Travis Hunter trade. Those picks together should get the Browns wherever they want on the board to take whoever they want.

And if they end up with Allar, that'll be fitting. It'd be a homecoming of sorts and a chance to finally rescue Cleveland from a generation or more of quarterback doldrums. Maybe it's meant to be.
