For Dallas Cowboys fans, it's the same old song and dance.

Owner and general manager Jerry Jones is procrastinating on paying one of his star players, who just so happens to be one of the best defenders in the NFL in edge rusher Micah Parsons.

Parsons, who requested a trade from the team last Friday, is currently under contract on the fifth-year option of the rookie deal and is seeking a multi-year extension with the team, but with Jones' lack of urgency in the situation, despite his claim otherwise, it seems that Parsons wants out.

And now, it seems that the drama could keep the Nittany Lion off the field for the NFL Kickoff Game between the Cowboys and Philadelphia Eagles, at least to Jones.

"No, absolutely not." Jones told ESPN's Todd Archer Tuesday at the Cowboys' joint practice with the Rams. "A big part of that is his decision. How would I know that?"

Parsons has been silent since he announced that he was requesting a trade, and when asked if the former Defensive Rookie of the Year should reach out to him, Jones answer didn't really provide any hope for the situation.

""Y'all are getting what's in the mind or what's in the said. This is a good time. He's subject matter. What it is is what it is. We'll work through it, or we will not work through it," the owner said.

That mindset is certainly not getting any deals done anytime soon, and if Jones lets this go on too long, regardless of how he believes the situation will turn out, he could lose a valuable asset on defense.
