North Carolina, Bill Belichick make intriguing recruiting move on Thursday image

Bill Belichick and the North Carolina Tar Heels have been heavily in the media over the last few weeks. Unfortunately, that media coverage has not been about football. Instead, it has had to do with Belichick and his 24-year-old girlfriend, Jordon Hudson.

Thankfully, there is some news on Thursday that is completely football related.

In a post on X, three-star cornerback prospect Darius Johnson has revealed that Belichick and North Carolina have made him an offer. He sent a short message after receiving the offer.

"Extremely blessed to say I have received an offer from the University of North Carolina!!" he wrote on X.

Hailing from Murrieta Valley High School in California, Johnson is currently ranked by On3 Sports as the No. 35 cornerback in the 2027 recruiting class. He's also ranked No. 360 in the nation and No. 44 in the state of California.

Johnson is an intriguing player and Belichick clearly likes the potential he sees.

Plenty of other programs have shown interest in Johnson already as well. He has received offers from UCLA, Arizona State, Oklahoma, Arizona, and BYU, among other schools.

While Johnson may not be a high-profile recruit right now, he is still improving and developing his game. Belichick has an uncanny ability to see talent, which makes this offer even more intriguing.

Only time will tell, but the offer has been made and Johnson is officially a target for the Tar Heels.
