In a twist, Penn State saw its quarterback, Drew Allar, not declare for the 2025 NFL draft. Plenty of experts guessed Allar would enter the draft, and some even predicted he'd go inside the first round. But, Allar came back to Penn State and is preparing for a huge 2025 season.
Ahead of such a huge season, an NFL analyst had some high praise for Allar. One of the best NFL draft analysts, Daniel Jeremiah of NFL Network, shared some high praise for Allar on Twitter/X.
I've been studying Drew Allar the last couple days. There are areas to clean up but the good is really good.

"I've been studying Drew Allar the last couple days." Jeremiah wrote. "There are some areas to clean up, but the good is really good."
Jeremiah's praise of Allar is a sentiment shared around the football world. The strengths in Allar's game make him a very intriguing prospect in NFL circles. He could go as high as number one overall in 2026 if he has a strong 2025 season for Penn State.
From Jeremiah's perspective, Allar is someone who could be a top draft choice in just a year. But he needs to work out some of the kinks in his game if he wants to become the number one overall pick.
Allar is coming off a solid 2024 season at Penn State, where he helped the Nittany Lions look like one of the better teams in the NCAA. Allar had the 17th most passing yards in FBS with 3,327. He had 24 passing touchdowns, eight interceptions, and a completion percentage of 66.5 percent.
In his second season as Penn State's starting quarterback, Allar improved his passing yardage and completion percentage totals by a significant margin. But he threw fewer touchdowns and had four times more interceptions than he did in 2023.
If Allar could cut down on the interceptions, especially the over-aggressive ones that plagued him in the College Football Playoffs, Allar could be in store for a massive 2025 season.
In the eyes of Jeremiah, one of the top NFL draft analysts, he believes that Allar has immense upside. While Allar needs to work on parts of his game, there's a lot to like, and heading into a huge 2025 season with Penn State, Allar could make the case he's the best college quarterback in the nation.
