Mike Vrabel drops chilling statement about 'pissed' Ohio State before it won national championship image

New England Patriots coach Mike Vrabel showed a little love to his alma when speaking with fellow Ohio State legend Urban Meyer as the two chronicled a variety of football topics during a recent episode of "The Triple Option" podcast.

One of those discussions centered around the Ohio State-Michigan rivalry, which the Wolverines have dominated in recent years.

With Michigan now clinging to a four-game winning streak, Vrabel said that although the Buckeyes should have gotten the job done, it was the loss they used for a full reset.

"They just pissed them off, I think,” Vrabel said. “At least, they used them to piss them off and end the tournament.”

Despite scrutiny surrounding Day's Ohio State tenure before it overcame Notre Dame to win it all, validation finally set in.

"When you go through great moments, you really grab on to the people that are around you, and it's the same thing when you go through difficult moments,” Day said after the win, per USA Today. “That's it. That's why you have family. That's why you build relationships.”

It appears Vrabel doesn't need to give Day any extra motivation. After all, the Buckeyes are seeking back-to-back championships which would continue the Big Ten's dominance for yet another year.

This fall, the repeat tour officially begins, and, just maybe, snapping the skid against the Wolverines in Ann Arbor.

By August, it can all play out in Columbus with a heavyweight-type opener against the Texas Longhorns.

Only time will tell.
