Michigan football has put together a solid recruiting class for the 2026 season. The Wolverines have the seventh-best recruiting class for 2026 with 20 total commits. Michigan has the chance to add another talented recruit to its class on Tuesday as four-star linebacker Brayden Rouse is set to announce his commitment at 7:00 p.m.
Rouse will be deciding between Michigan, Alabama, Texas, and Tennessee. The 6-foot-2, 220-pound linebacker out of Kell High School in Marietta, Georgia, is the No. 86 player in the country and fifth-ranked linebacker in the 2026 class.
Rouse went on an official visit to Michigan on June 6th before visiting Texas and Tennessee.
While the Wolverines are in consideration to land Rouse, the Georgia native is expected to stay in the south and commit to an SEC school.
There is no leading favorite to land Rouse, according to 247Sports' Crystal Ball predictions, but expect him to commit to either Tennessee, Texas, or Alabama.
In terms of linebacker commits for the 2026 recruiting class, the Wolverines have only one commit at the position with Markel Dabney, who Michigan flipped from SMU.
Notable recent commitments that Michigan has received include five-star edge rusher Carter Meadows and four-star prospects Julian Walker and Dorian Barney.
In his first season, Sherrone Moore led the Wolverines to an 8-5 record. Despite a win over Ohio State and a bowl victory against Alabama, Moore is under pressure to get Michigan back to the College Football Playoff. While results might not come this season, Michigan’s future is in good shape with its 2026 recruiting class.
