Sherrone Moore appears to have grown tired of college football's scheduling conundrum. So much so that he's now advocating for uniform change across the sport.
The season is just under a month away, and Moore said recently he wants to see the sport have an even playing field, starting with how the schedules are formulated. Currently, the Big Ten plays nine games with the other three being nonconference opponents.
In an interview with SiriusXM College Sports Radio, Moore uncovered his true feelings.
“Let’s all do the same thing," Moore said. "[With] our nine conference games and everybody else is playing eight conference games, it’s like, ‘Well, that 6-3 team in the Big Ten looks better than the 7-2 or 8-1 team in the other conferences.’ I think for us, as the whole institution of college football, we’ve got to get aligned on what we want to do."
Moore adds the last thing he wants his teams to face are competitive disadvantages.
“Nine conference games, if we’re going to do that, we’re going to do it," Moore said. "If we’re going to do eight, we’re going to do eight. But let’s all do it together and not skip around and do all these different things to get an advantage.”

Moore's team draws a few must-win games this fall, including a road game against Oklahoma, Ohio State to close the season at home and trips to Nebraska and USC, among others.
Whether Moore's thoughts are enough to change the entire system remains to be seen, but at the very least, his feelings are public if any of the leagues think to seek action.
