The Miami Hurricanes are off to a stellar start laying the groundwork for the 2027 recruiting cycle.

While most of the country is still heavily focused on 2026 - and all but 13 are sitting on one of fewer pledge in the 2027 class - Miami has already secured the verbal commitments of three bluechip recruits.

That trio has quickly catapulted Miami's class to No. 1 nationally, according to Rivals

Entering the week, Mario Cristobal's program already boasted the commitments of American Heritage (Florida) four-star wide receiver Ah'Mari Stevens and Miami-Norland (Florida) four-star defensive back Kenton Dopson II.

On Monday, the 'Canes added to their haul, picking up the verbal commitment of McArthur (Florida) four-star safety Jaylyn Jones.

The 5-foot-11, 182-pound defensive back hasn't even begun his junior year in high school yet, but held more than 20 offers, highlighted by Auburn, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, Miami, Nebraska, Texas A&M and several others.

While it's early - wildly early - in the 2027 cycle, Miami is off to a red-hot start.

And it is equally impressive that all three of its commitments come from the state of Florida, and all three held at least one other "Big 3" offer from Florida or Florida State.

Currently, Miami's 2026 recruiting class is ranked No. 7 nationally and led by Nixa (Missouri) five-star offensive tackle Jackson Cantwell, the nation's top track and field throwing recruit.

So, while things are looking bright for the December early signing period, it's entirely possible the 2027 class is even better.

After all, it's the nation's No. 1 collection of talent so far.
