Marcus Freeman and Notre Dame are gearing up for the upcoming season with redshirt freshman CJ Carr set to take over at quarterback following Riley Leonard’s departure to the NFL. But while Carr is ready to lead now, the future might already be taking shape behind him.

Enter Teddy Jarrard — one of the most intriguing quarterback prospects in the country.

The North Cobb High School standout announced his commitment to Notre Dame on Thursday morning, with recruiting insider Hayes Fawcett of Rivals and On3Sports among the first to break the news. Jarrard chose the Irish over some of college football’s biggest names, including Ohio State, Georgia, Penn State, and Michigan.

A 2027 prospect, Jarrard is ranked No. 14 at his position and No. 126 overall in the class. He holds a 93 overall grade, according to the 247Sports Composite.

Freeman’s been on a roll when it comes to recruiting, and Jarrard is just the latest big-time pickup. He was recruited hard by quarterbacks and running backs coach Gino Guidugli, who’s also helped reel in names like CJ Carr, Noah Grubbs, and tight end James Flanagan.

Jarrard started out at North Cobb Christian, taking over as a freshman before making the move to North Cobb High going into his junior year.

Back in his sophomore year, he played a big role in North Cobb Christian’s breakout season, helping them go 11-2 and reach the semifinals of Georgia’s private-school playoffs for the first time. He was super efficient all year — finishing with over 2,700 passing yards, 31 touchdowns, just five picks, and nearly a 69% completion rate.

For Notre Dame, Jarrard’s commitment is a big win — and a glimpse at what’s ahead under Freeman. With his accuracy, poise, and proven ability to elevate a program, Jarrard could be the next star under center once his time comes in South Bend.
