Coaching changes can wreak havoc on recruiting classes.

Georgia dodged a big bullet Tuesday when All-Everything QB Jacob Eason decided he will stick with his commitment to the Bulldogs after seriously considering a switch to Florida.

Even bigger, Eason will enroll in January and get a jump on competing for the starting job next season.

Eason, the nation's top quarterback and No. 4 overall rated player, wavered after Mark Richt left Georgia and became head coach at Miami. He visited Florida, which recently picked up a commitment from former LSU commitment, Feleipe Franks. Franks is a four-star pro-style QB rated No. 37 overall by 247Sports.com.

Eason reaffirmed his commitment on a final visit to Georgia before a dead recruiting period.

That's the first biggest recruiting victory for new Bulldogs coach Kirby Smart.

Also on Tuesday Eason was named the 2015 Gatorade National Football Player of the Year.
