Georgia Coach Kirby Smart denounces Saban return image

ATLANTA -- News in college football swirled yesterday around one of the sports greatest coaches Nick Saban potentially returning to the game after a comment from Greg McElroy.

Today, former Alabama assistant and current head coach of Georgia, Kirby Smart shut it down pretty quickly when asked about if he expects Saban to make the return, even quickly joking about offering him a job himself.

Smart even thinks this could just be because it's deep into the offseason saying, "I heard all the scuttlebutt and everything about it. I almost laughed. It was like somebody needed something interesting to talk about yesterday, so they chose to go to Coach Saban to do it."

He did mention his appreciation for Saban as well, even when he's not on the sideline mentioning, "The game is better with him involved, and he is involved. He is passionate about it. He's still watching tape and very, very involved in football. He loves it."

Smart would continue on about Saban's love for the game and how he still continues to read and learn from it.

However with his final comment on the question, Smart once again joked, "Make no mistake about it. The boss at home is going to make that call for him, not him."

Even though he feels Saban still has passion for the game, Coach Smart doesn't think the seven-time national champion winning coach will make his return to the sideline.
