Five-star Ole Miss commit Shea Patterson chosen Elite 11 MVP image

Shea Patterson, a 6-2, 190-pound 5-star prospect from Shreveport, La., was chosen Saturday as the MVP of the week-long Elite 11 quarterback camp in Beaverton, Ore.

Patterson, who is committed to Ole Miss, finished in first place among the 25 quarterbacks invited to the high-profile camp at Nike’s headquarters.

University of Texas commit and 4-star prospect Shane Buechele — from Arlington, Texas, and the son of former major-leaguer Steve Buechele — finished in second place during the week.

Other quarterbacks receiving elite status (and the schools to which they're currently committed): KJ Costello (Stanford), Jacob Eason (Georgia), Feleipe Franks (LSU), Jarrett Guarantano (Tennessee), Dwayne Haskins (Maryland), Malik Henry (Florida State), Brandon McIlwain (South Carolina), Brandon Peters (Michigan) and Anthony Russo (Rutgers).

Your current scoreboard reads this way, in terms of elite QBs' destination conferences: five to the SEC, three to the Big Ten and one each to the ACC, Big 12 and Pac-12.

Meanwhile, 6-2, 224-pound wide receiver Kyle Davis, from Lawrenceville, Ga., was chosen Saturday as MVP among receivers and running backs who participated in The Opening 7-on-7 tournament in Beaverton. Davis is uncommitted on where he'll play in college.
