Michigan is set to play Nebraska in Week 4, Sept. 20, as CBS’s marquee game of the week, designated for 3:30 p.m. ET.
With both programs on the rise in their respective ways, fans of both teams figured it would get a much larger treatment.
Among a slew of Big Ten game times shared Thursday, the Cornhuskers-Wolverines matchup appeared to generate a highly volatile perception.
Frustrated fans of both teams took to social media to plead their case that the game should have gotten love from Big Noon Kickoff or NBC’s Saturday Night series instead of CBS. However, it was mostly the Nebraska faithful who were upset.
It’s a clash of historic college football programs Week 4 in Lincoln.

“How tf is that not a prime time game?” one Cornhusker fan wrote.

Nevertheless, they’ll have to live with it. If both teams handle their business in the first few weeks, an undefeated-versus-undefeated matchup could be at stake in what would arguably be the biggest game of Matt Rhule’s tenure in Lincoln thus far.
The Athletic's Bruce Feldman sees the Cornhuskers as a possible dark horse to watch this fall, too.
"Holgorsen is one of the brightest offensive minds in college football, and now he has an entire offseason to fire up the playbook," Feldman wrote. "I've heard Raiola has been outstanding. The Huskers don't have a lot of speed aside from Jacory Barney, who was a freshman last year, but RB Emmett Johnson's a good back, and they added two good transfer WRs, most notably Dane Key from Kentucky."
Michigan has won the last four meetings head-to-head, which includes a 45-7 thumping in 2023.
