USC appears to have taken a hit on the recruiting front, the first backlash from coach Steve Sarkisian's leave of absence, as four-star linebacker Daelin Hayes on Sunday evening announced via Twitter that he has de-committed from the Trojans.

Sarkisian was asked Sunday morning by athletic director Pat Haden to take an indefinite leave of absence, reportedly to undergo alcohol rehabilitation treatment.

He has listed his hometown university, Michigan, along with Notre Dame and Michigan State among his preferences during his recruitment. According to 247Sports, he is scheduled to take an official visit to Notre Dame on Saturday, when the Fighting Irish play USC.

He committed to USC in July 2014.
