Colorado Buffaloes football legend Shedeur Sanders almost certainly won’t be traded to or signed with the Las Vegas Raiders after Maxx Crosby strongly endorsed Geno Smith at the expense of the “Grown QB.”

During a recent episode of his " The Rush with Maxx Crosby " podcast, Crosby called Smith the long-term solution and explained how much more favorable it is to have a 34-year-old than Sanders.

In response, Just Blog Baby’s Levi Dombro claims that, in regards to Sanders ending up in Vegas at some point, “that ship has sailed.”

“If the team's franchise player can get behind a decision like this, then the fan base should not be too far behind him. While Sanders was certainly an exciting prospect for Raider Nation at one point during the offseason, that ship has sailed,” Dombro wrote.

“Time will tell or not if the decision to pass on Sanders will haunt the franchise. At his best, he could have been a Pro Bowl caliber player, but at his worst, he is a major distraction for the team as a backup quarterback.”

After Shedeur’s draft slide to the fifth round, Crosby previously went against the narrative that there was a conspiracy against Sanders that explained his fall from a first-rounder to the second QB the Cleveland Browns took in as many days.

Crosby spoke with Sanders before the draft, and after the Raiders didn’t take him, the pass-rusher turned on him.

Gamesmanship? Perhaps.

Although we also know Shedeur’s pre-draft meetings cost him at least one opportunity.

Either way, Sanders’ relationship with Tom Brady doesn’t appear like it’ll convince the Raiders’ brain trust to go back on Crosby’s words.

After Crosby’s recent extension, he probably won’t be going anywhere. And he probably knows what the organization is thinking.

Not good for the “Grown QB” after strongly hinting he wanted to wear black and silver during his NFL career.
