College football rankings, Week 13: Michigan, Washington State fall after losses image

The favorites heading into Championship Weekend are looking more clear after some huge losses by playoff contenders.

Michigan fell four spots in both the AP and Coaches Polls after getting blown out by a final of 62-39 against Ohio State. Washington State is No. 12 in the AP Poll and No. 13 in the Coaches Poll following a rivalry loss to Washington on Friday. A similar fall appears likely in the College Football Playoff rankings.

Meanwhile, Georgia entered the top four, making its showdown with Alabama next Saturday in the SEC championship game even more important. The Buckeyes also benefited from their win over the Wolverines. They now sit at No. 6 in both polls, one spot behind Oklahoma.

PLAYOFF PICTURE: Which teams make the cut?

Texas is the only team that entered the top 10 in both polls. The Longhorns will face the Sooners for the Big 12 championship.
