The Cleveland Browns are in an interesting spot, heading into training camp with five quarterbacks. The most intriguing prospect is Shedeur Sanders, who was drafted in the fifth round despite being projected as a first- or second-round pick. Given how late he was selected, Fox Sports’ Emmanuel Acho believes Sanders is simply a camp body.
Recently, an anonymous scout revealed that all of his terrible pre-draft interview assumptions were spot on.
“Shedeur Sanders is a very polarizing guy. We didn’t like his attitude and how he handled the draft process. He wasn’t prepared. He mailed it in at every step. He didn’t take it seriously enough,” the anonymous scout allegedly told Athlon Sports.
Sanders isn’t even in the mix to become the Browns’ starter; instead, rookie Dillon Gabriel is believed to be in a better position.
“I was told from somebody that’s in the building, that ain’t a player, it’s really coming down to Kenny Pickett or Dillon Gabriel,” TJ Houshmandzadeh said. “That’s what I was told.”
Pro Football Network’s Max Dorsey believes the Browns will draft Clemson’s Cade Klubnik to replace both Shedeur Sanders and Dillon Gabriel.

“Clemson’s Cade Klubnik is as good as any signal-caller in the country. A tad undersized, Klubnik is 6’2”, 205 pounds, but has the arm to make every throw on the field. He’s a creative mover in the pocket and makes things happen out of structure,” Dorsey wrote. “Klubnik’s production increased significantly from 2023 to 2024. With another great year at Clemson, he should be in firm conversation for the No. 1 overall pick come April.”
The Browns’ quarterback room is going to look very different next season, and Klubnik might just be the main guy. Sanders hasn’t been getting the reps, and Gabriel isn’t the typical size for a successful NFL quarterback. Adding Klubnik would be a big boost for Cleveland.
