The Cleveland Browns have the most headline-worthy quarterback battle this offseason in the NFL. Anyone looking for one of the losers of that QB battle on their team may need to pump the brakes just yet.

Cleveland.com’s Mary Kat Cabot reports that the Browns have no plans to trade Shedeur Sanders, Dillon Gabriel, Joe Flacco, or Kenny Pickett just yet as they evaluate the position heading into the 2025 season.

Cabot specifically mentioned the New Orleans Saints as a potential landing spot given Derek Carr’s career-ending shoulder injury.

“The Browns have no plans to trade any of their quarterbacks at this point, even though teams such as the Saints can use a veteran with Derek Carr retiring,” Cabot wrote.

“The Browns will conduct concurrent offensive drills in OTAs to maximize the reps for all four quarterback, and give them as level a playing field as possible. All four will have to have a chance to throw to Jerry Jeudy, David Njoku and Cedric Tillman to make the competition fair. By the same token, the Browns will need to decide on their starter as soon as possible to get him ready for a difficult start to the season, with two AFC North games in the first two weeks, and then a stretch of four out of five on the road — including the London game vs. the Vikings on Oct. 5 — in the first five weeks.”

This is the plan right now. Keywords: right now.

Things could, and likely will, change once head coach Kevin Stefanski makes his decision. GM Andrew Berry will not keep four active QBs on his roster when his highest-paid player is an inactive QB who may never play again.

Especially if Sanders isn’t named the starter or top backup. Colorado Buffaloes football coach Deion Sanders isn’t going to keep quiet for long if Cleveland isn’t playing his son and has no plans to unleash him under center.
