Shedeur Sanders has a shot to start for the Browns next season, but he is currently fighting for Cleveland’s QB1 spot with three other quarterbacks. Recent reports revealed that one of Joe Flacco and Kenny Pickett will likely be cut or traded depending on which veteran performs better at training camp, paving the way for Sanders to face less competition.

In a May 23 episode of ESPN Cleveland's "The Really Big Show," Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski made a guest appearance and talked about Sanders’ outstanding work ethic.

"Shedeur is a great kid," Stefanski said. "Whether it's a following that he's earned, I mean, that's something that he's done a great job of, interacting with fans. But he is a great, great kid. You guys will get to know him. He's working like crazy just like all the guys."

Given the negative attention Sanders had received before the draft, Stefanski’s comments are a breath of fresh air for Browns fans, Colorado fans, and Sanders himself. Many media members tried to tear down the former Buffaloes superstar for his supposedly poor attitude and discipline, but Stefanski’s comments tell a different story.

From controversial reports on Sanders’ pre-draft meeting with the New York Giants to his father, Deion, retiring his college jersey before he even graduated, the 23-year-old signal-caller has endured plenty of outside distractions and drama.

According to Stefanski, Shedeur has worked as hard as any upcoming rookie in the league. The Browns have clearly loved what they have seen from him, and any negative expectations for Cleveland fans will certainly quiet down as the CU legend continues to keep his nose to the grindstone.

Stefanski made sure to double down on his high opinion of Shedeur’s motor and work ethic.

"These rookies, you know, my office is downstairs,” Stefanski said. “They gotta walk by my office as they come in. They come in early, and Shedeur, just like all those guys, he's in there early, he's getting his work done. So he's working really, really hard.”
