The Cleveland Browns continue to be the story of the offseason, whether it's Shedeur Sanders' famous draft slide or Dillon Gabriel being picked ahead of him, there is much madness to sort out ahead of a potentially underwhelming season.

The Browns may still be in rebuild mode by season's end, which looks ahead to next spring's NFL Draft. Although it is unknown how it will shake out exactly, CBS Sports NFL Draft writer Josh Edwards could see the Browns take another crack at a quarterback: Penn State's Drew Allar.

"Allar is an unrefined product, but he has a lot of the traits that will appeal to NFL teams," Edwards wrote. The Ohio native grew up wanting to play for Cleveland. "The Browns are clearly stockpiling picks to either take their quarterback of choice or move around to get that player. The third-round selection of Dillon Gabriel and fifth-round selection of Shedeur Sanders is not going to change that fact."

Even if one of the two aforementioned quarterbacks remains in Cleveland, Allar could bring together some stiff competition. Allar led the Nittany Lions to the Orange Bowl this past season, racking up 24 touchdowns to only eight interceptions.

Through three years in State College, Allar has thrown 53 touchdowns, as last season was his best statistical year.

Expectations remain immense for James Franklin and Co., with some suggesting the Nittany Lions can win the Big Ten on top of a national title over the likes of Ohio State and Oregon, to name a few.

If Allar ends up in Cleveland, its quarterback room will go from interesting to intense fairly quickly.

It's up to Allar to prove his worth as a possible No. 2 selection starting this August.
