It is expected that Arch Manning is about to take off in college football. Finally handed the reins to the number one team in the country, the sky seems to be the limit. The expectation is that he'll reach it, winning Heisman and maybe being drafted first overall if he leaves for the NFL.
Despite that, some outlets are not picking him as a preseason All-American. ESPN snubbed him for Cade Klubnik and Garrett Nussmeier, two understandable but disappointing picks. Now, CBS Sports is dropping their own list, and Manning is nowhere to be found yet again.
CBS insiders picked the same two QBs over Manning, with Klubnik landing the first-team spot again. There's a bit of an unknown factor with Manning, and Klubnik is a definitively good quarterback. So is Nussmeier.
About Klubnik, CBS wrote, "There was no quarterback in the country last year better at handling pressure. Klubnik led the FBS with an 80.9 PFF grade in those situations while leading Clemson to an ACC championship and a return to the College Football Playoff."
Last season, Klubnik went for 3,639 yards and 36 TDs, and expectations are through the roof for 2025. "He's the triggerman for a Clemson team with resurgent national championship hopes," CBS argued. He's also the preseason All-American at the biggest position in sports.
