The sports world was set ablaze earlier this week with the news that Nick Saban may potentially be making a return to college football coaching. Former Alabama quarterback Greg McElroy was the one to break the ice.
“A very much in-the-know person that I have a lot of respect for and have spent a lot of time around, and just really, really admire — they seem to think Nick Saban is not done coaching," McElroy said. "He's pretty adamant that he thinks Nick Saban will be coaching again."
Speculation has run rampant about where Saban might end up. Some believe a return to the NFL, rather than the college ranks, is more likely.
“I would say very little to no chance he would get involved in college, but I think he would take phone calls from the NFL,” Urban Meyer said.
While Saban has been linked to several teams with head coaches already on the hot seat, nothing has been confirmed about a possible return. Still, the possibility has fans buzzing. If there’s one team he could potentially join as early as next season, it's the Cleveland Browns—an organization that has struggled in almost every way imaginable.
“Cleveland might need an infusion of life after what's expected to be another miserable campaign in the 2025 NFL season. If Nick Saban is truly looking to coach again, there's nothing that would boost his legacy more than reviving a historic Browns franchise desperate for a return to glory,” Sports Illustrated’s Andy Quach wrote.

The timing could be ideal. The Browns are almost certain to draft a quarterback next season, giving Saban the chance to develop a signal-caller of his choosing. As a Hall of Fame coach with a proven track record of winning, he might just be the one to turn things around in Cleveland.
