Alabama running back gives positive update on his injury image

It was reported by Alabama head coach Kalen DeBoer that Miller suffered an upper-body injury last week during Alabama’s second scrimmage, but DeBoer did not reveal what kind of upper-body injury Miller suffered from during his press conference.

Miller gave a brief interview to Alex Boothe of Tuscaloosa TV station WVUA, where he confirmed several things:

-  confirmed the injury is a dislocated collarbone.

- He says the doctors did not do surgery on the injury.

- Adds that doctors tell him the recovery time is “fast”

- Says he will be back soon.

That’s good news for Tide fans who are naturally concerned about an injury such as this one. Normal recovery time for an injury such as this is 6-12 weeks, but that depends on one’s age and health.

Many expect Miller to return by the Georgia game, which is September 27th in Athens; that means, however, that Miller will still miss the first three weeks of the season.

In the meantime, Daniel Hill and Richard Young will likely get the call while Miller recovers.

Who gets the call, according to offensive coordinator Ryan Grubb, depends on which running back can handle the offensive game plan.

“We’ve got to see a lot here in the next week or so to see who can handle the game plan and who is the most responsible with all the duties,” Grubb said Tuesday.

Many expect Hill to start. According to reports, the coaches have been impressed with his work ethic and describe him as a"brusier.”  Young is a speedster who could also cause a lot of problems for opponents.

Tide coaches seem to think they are in pretty good hands at the running back position as they await the return of Miller.
