With the 2024-25 season well behind them, the Philadelphia 76ers are looking to bounce back after a disappointing season.
Wins were hard to come by for the 76ers; who last season finished with a 24-58 record. However, one bright spot on the roster was Quentin Grimes.
Grimes played superbly down the stretch, earning himself a larger role and attention around the league. He enters this offseason as a free agent and is expected to garner considerable interest around the league with a number of teams looking to acquire his services.
While Grimes is waiting on big payday, some around the league, not everyone is convinced he’s there yet. On the Pat Bev Pod, Patrick Beverley spoke up on Grimes contract situation.
“He needs to relax… I’m all with the homies getting paid, but let’s be realistic… Put some more work in,” said Beverley.
So far this offseason was highlighted by the selection of VJ Edgecomb with the No. 3 overall pick in this year's draft, along with the resigning of a number of pivotal role players like Eric Gordon and Andre Drummond.
Grimes was acquired by the 76ers from the Dallas Mavericks. He played some of the best basketball of his career, averaging 21.9 points, 5.2 rebound and 4,5 assist after the trade during the second half of the 2024-25 season.
If the 76ers are able to retain him, then it could be a major step of building a more competitive roster for next season.
