A former Philadelphia 76ers sharpshooting guard is slated to team back up with two of his fellow Wells Fargo Center alums abroad.

Following a miserable 24-58 season run in 2024-25, Philadelphia is surprisingly staying the course, making some peripheral moves but generally hoping that its pricey core trio of All-Stars Joel Embiid, Tyrese Maxey and Paul George can remain healthy and gel better than they did during their first year together.

Some of those moves include a few hard decisions. Talented ex-Sixers have been allowed to walk. Reserve power forward Guerschon Yabusele may be the most notable name departing, as he's leaving for an Atlantic Division rival, the New York Knicks. Philadelphia replaced him with a more cost-effective former Brooklyn Nets forward Trendon Watford.

Per Marc Stein of The Stein Line, former Sixers backup point guard Jeff Dowtin Jr. has inked a two-year deal with Israeli club Maccabi Tel Aviv, where he'll serve as the starter for a major EuroLeague powerhouse. Dowtin will be joined by a pair of former 2024-25 Philadelphia pros, shooting guard Lonnie Walker IV and wing Oshae Brissett.

Stein writes that Dowtin's new deal is a one-plus-one, and he'll have a mutual option (i.e. a team and player option) in year two.

Last season, the 28-year-old split his time between the Sixers and their G League affiliate, the Delaware Blue Coats.

Thanks to the aforementioned health issues plaguing Philadelphia's stars, Dowtin earned some extended run last year. The 6-foot-3 Rhode Island product appeared in 41 contests for the team (three starts), averaging 7.0 points on .487/.400/.733 shooting splits, 1.9 assists, 1.5 rebounds and 0.6 steals a night.
