The Philadelphia 76ers are looking to bounce back from what was a disappointing 2024-25 campaign.
Last season, the team dealt with several injuries to key players, most notably Paul George and Joel Embiid, which derailed their momentum. This offseason, the Sixers have an opportunity to make some significant additions to their roster and reclaim their position at the top of the Eastern Conference.

In a proposed trade from Philly Voice, writer Adam Aaronson suggested a trade that would bring in a reliable backup big man for the 76ers.
76ers receive: Daniel Gafford
Mavericks receive Kelly Oubre Jr., Andre Drummond, Adem Bona
"With Cooper Flagg set to join P.J. Washington, Anthony Davis, Dereck Lively II, and Daniel Gafford in a crowded frontcourt rotation — with all but Davis set for new contracts very soon — it stands to reason that Gafford or Washington could be available for the right price," Aaronson wrote.
He added, "Washington is a better fit with much higher upside for the Sixers, but he would also come at a much more significant price. Gafford, meanwhile, would be a high-end backup center behind Joel Embiid, who is genuinely capable of filling in as a starter when Embiid goes down. Could Dallas have interest in adding a wing with some scoring punch to its depleted perimeter rotation while also restocking at the five?"
Gafford, who joined the Mavericks midway through the 2023-2024 season, was a significant part of their NBA Finals. If traded to the 76ers, it gives the team a quality backup big man who can start in a pinch when needed.
On the Mavericks' side, they acquire reliable rotation players and veterans, adding wing scoring with Kelly Oubre Jr. and depth at center with Andre Drummond and Adam Bona.
