The Oklahoma City Thunder just lost the first game of the Western Conference semi-finals to the Denver Nuggets in a nailbiter. While you’d think this would lock both teams in for the next game, Denver’s superstar was definitely not.
Nuggets superstar and three-time MVP Nikola Jokic was spotted in a bar in Oklahoma City after the Game 1 win. He clearly doesn’t feel threatened, as he went out in the middle of the night after a jaw-dropping game.
Jokic did deserve to blow off some steam, as he was the main reason OKC fell. He finished the game with 42 points, 22 rebounds, six assists, two blocks, and one steal. The next highest scorers on the team were Aaron Gordon with 22 points, Jamal Murray with 21, and Russell Westbrook with 18.
The Thunder also did really well, except at the end. Led by their superstar and MVP candidate, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, who had 33 points, 10 rebounds, eight assists, two steals, and a block. He was supported by Alex Caruso who had 20 points, and Jalen Williams, who had 16.
Going back to Jokic, going to a bar after the close win could hopefully wake the Thunder up. It shows he’s not truly taking them seriously, and he had good reason to. Aside from Alexander, no Thunder player truly did very well.
Overall, the Thunder know what they are up against now. They need to lock in, and show Jokic that going to the bar after a close win might not have been the smartest move.
