The Dallas Mavericks knew this would not be an easy series against the Utah Jazz to begin with.

Things have become even harder trying to navigate their way without leader Luka Doncic who has not played the first two games of this series, and thus the Mavs find themselves in a 1-1 deadlock right now.

The Jazz stunned the No. 4 seed Mavericks to take Game 1, 99-93, but Dallas leveled the series with a 110-104 victory in Game 2 behind a 41-point explosion from Jalen Brunson.

Dallas also got a valuable contribution from Maxi Kleber who added 25 points, including 8-of-11 shooting from long-range.

Doncic's calf strain is reportedly improving and workouts over the next few days could determine when he is able to return to the floor. There is optimism that he could return for either Game 3 or 4 in Salt Lake City.
